ESF Technology - Off axis strength without the weight!
Engineered Specialty Fabrics or ESF are scrim fabrics designed for reinforcing various composite structures. Through a proprietary process, we create scrims that reinforce load requirements off the 0-90 degree axis. In fact, ADFORS is the world-exclusive provider of off-angle scrims. This variation in geometry allows us to construct scrims that not only increase durability and off-load line strength in your product, but can also differentiate them visually.
ESF scrims use a variety of yarns including: Glass, Polyester, Aramid, Carbon, Dyneema®, Spectra®, Vectran® and Innegra™
Fabric designs include:
- 0/90 - Basic square reinforcement
- Off-axis - Reinforcement with an off-axis working yarn consistently placed at a given angle on a carrier scrim
- Off-axis with warp - Reinforcement with a warp-only yarn that can be used alone or layerd with an off-axis fabric
- Uni-directional - Reinforcement with fibers close together to make a tape, sheet or roll good
