Tack coats are required for applying the pavement layers. Without spraying, the surfaces will not bond and may crack. Tack coating also presents a number of problems. It is difficult to achieve a correct and even distribution; the splitting time prolongs the construction of the roads and the joint spraying can easily run off on a clean part of the road.

Saint-Gobain ADFORS has developed the ADFORS GlasGrid TF (Tack Film) fibreglass geogrid with a film that replaces the tack coat function, without the usual problems during the use of conventional bonding spray, which guarantees faster repair of asphalt layers and less emissions during installation. The geogrid is easy to apply thanks to the self-adhesive layer.
