Process in which two or more substrates are brought together to form a single layered structure


ADFORS uses wet, thermal, and mechanical bonding lamination processes. We can laminate to various nonwovens such as glass mat, spun bond polyester, point bond polyester, tissue, craft paper, and films.

In the wet process, a liquid adhesive is applied to one or more substrates. The layers are then brought together and the structure is dried with the layers compressed to ensure a good bond.

In the thermal process, two or more different layers are brought together and consolidated with heat and pressure. A related process, calendering, can be used to flatten or reduce the gauge of a single fabric.

In the mechanical bonding process, a lightweight substrate can be attached to a knit fabric during the knitting process.
